Halifax Fan US Industrial Sales Engineer
Location
Syracuse, New York (Remote)
Required experience
You will need to have sold fans, pumps, industrial ovens, incineration equipment, boilers, centrifuges or industrial motors. We are looking for a sales engineer who already knows how industrial buyers think.
The job
You are the front person for Halifax Fan in the USA. You open the conversation. You keep the relationship. You work with our proposal team to close the right work.
You will use LinkedIn and other web tools to find new opportunities. You will also look after the customers we already have.
You speak for the customer inside the business. You make sure we know what was promised, and that we can deliver it.
What you will do
- Build and run a clear plan to grow new and existing accounts
- Lead the sale from first contact to close, then stay close after the order
- Work with proposals on price, scope and contract terms we can actually meet
- Travel across the USA to meet customers
- Feed real customer needs into product development and into Fan Constructor
- Keep the wider team clear on what the customer needs, without bending how we build
How we measure the role
- Quality. Hit revenue goals. Keep commitments we can stand behind.
- Cost. Grow revenue and protect margin. Cut work that does not add value.
- Delivery. Keep quotes, answers and follow up on time.
- Safety. Follow our group health and safety policy.
What you bring
- An engineering or technical degree is preferred
- At least five years in operational or technical sales
- Comfort with travel on a regular basis
- The ability to work across design, proposals and production

Field Service and Test Engineer

- Providing exceptional field service: Travel to customer sites to perform installation support, troubleshooting, and performance testing for a diverse range of industrial fan applications.

To qualify, you’ll ideally possess:
- A strong background in mechanical engineering or a related field.
- Experience in field service or a similar role within a manufacturing environment.
- A passion for industrial ventilation and a strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
- A valid driver’s license and the ability to travel occasionally.

Apprenticeships
We have a long tradition of taking school leavers through college and into our in house apprentice scheme.
We work with local colleges to find bright, young engineers who go through a four year apprenticeship; partly full time at college and day release to gain a minimum of a City and Guilds level 3 and NVQ level 3 in an engineering competence. Our trainee engineers work through all our departments to gain a great general knowledge of the company whilst working alongside our experienced engineers. Some of our apprentices are encouraged to continue their fully funded education through to university to gain a technician qualification i.e. HNE/HND, Beng. Our longest serving original apprentice has been with the company for 34 years.
Our business is dynamic, varied with strong but controlled growth and we are often recruiting people in various roles and positions.
