One of several fans for a Western petrochemical company in China, these high pressure fans are part of the manufacturing process. Based upon API design the fan is between bearings and driven by a 280kW motor.
The fan case is stainless 304 whilst the impeller is largely duplex 2205 to deal with the corrosive nature of the gas. The fan will be fitted with a multi ring seal to ensure gas tightness.
In Asia we still see the motor manufacturers fitting a separate cooling fan motor when the fan is used on a variable speed drive. This typically not needed due to the fan load characteristic.
