Technical Sales Engineer

Location: UK Based

Reporting to: Functional and Hierarchical Manager, Sales Manager.

Purpose of role: To sell Halifax Fan Group products, post sale support capabilities and know how in an accurate but optimal way to customers, using the tools and process designed for this purpose.

Quality, Cost, Delivery & Safety (QCDS) responsibilities

Ø Quality: Meet assigned revenue goals and ensure conformance to the customer plan. Work to ensure contractual terms are attainable.

Ø Cost:          Maximise margins, grow revenues and minimise non value add activity.

Ø Delivery:     Timely delivery of requirements in support of customer needs.

Ø Safety:         Ensure compliance of the Group HSE Policy.

Key Requirements and Responsibilities:

–       Strive to establish customer intimacy through direct customer contact and operational excellence in support of the customer.

–       Know the Halifax Fan Group product, its capability, application and use. This includes products, field and factory support capability and geographical coverage.

–       Know how to interpret customer need, select and develop appropriate solutions, and produce/provide anticipated product performance data as needed.

–       Understand and use the Halifax Fan Group sales tools including the Configurator, SAP, CRM tools, SharePoint and other applications as they evolve for the business.

–       Conduct technical and business contract review for the opportunities owned. Ensure any concerns are immediately addressed and corrections made.

–       For all quoted £30K+ domestic opportunities, meet the decision makers at least once during the critical phase of the procurement process.

–       Facilitate transfer of all £30K newly won business to operations through a formal transfer meeting to ensure requirements are clearly understood.

–       Provide a costed budget for the completion of all projects, through CF1 when available, else manually using a cost breakdown summary document.

–       Liaise with the customer during the execution phase of a project as required if specific application technical issues arise. Be proactive.

–       Ensure contractual clarity with the customer through all phases of a project.

–       Identify repeat/volume opportunities and develop a specific customer plan to win increased amounts of this business (Major Account Management).

–       Ensure health and safety at work is not compromised. 

Knowledge, Skill or Ability required

–       Engineering/Technical degree or equivalent preferred.

–       5+ Extensive Fan application and design know how required.

–       5+ years Operational or Technical Sales experience preferred.
