Yesterday was a day of mixed feelings, we bid farewell to Neil Baker and wished him all the best for his retirement.

In 1978 as a naive 16-year-old still schoolboy Neil had signed up with Halifax Industrial Training who had arranged a meeting with the shop floor manager at that time at Halifax Fan, throughout that time Neil has been involved in many areas of the company, in particular using his knowledge to help us train and develop our Chinese factory.

Neil is our first Halifax Fan apprentice to serve for 44 years, so it is a loss to lose someone with such a wide experience in our industry as well has a huge sense of humour.

We still have many employees with over 35 years of fan wisdom in the company who are involved with passing on that special fan expertise to newer members of the team.
